It is important to have the right support system when dealing with Bipolar Disorder and that all starts with having the right supporter. It can be a parent, a sibling, a friend and even a neighbor. This person should be reliable and they should be a person you can count on to look after you when your going through a episode. Supporters are compassionate they help you but they should not have to things like bathe you, administer your medicine or put your clothes on for you. Supporters should be around to give you encouragement, help you gain your confidence and self-esteem back and also help in preventing episodes from occurring.
Supporters should help in looking for the warning signs of an impending episodes and remind you what you should do in order to stop it from occurring. It sounds easier said than done but if you find the right supporter who is concerned for your well being and wants to see you happy and succeeding in your life then you will be glad he or she came around to help in your path to recovery.
